Pink Lining WanderLust Rucksack Review

I know I don't need to tell you that I have a bag addiction, I've said it before, you all know it's true. So it will come as no shock to hear I've added another Pink Lining to my collection!

Pink Lining are one of my favourite brands, their quality is outstanding, their customer service is brilliant and their products are soooooo gorgeous.

So this is my newest addition ... 

Gorgeous yes? Well let me tell you it's not just a pretty face either it's full of features like the fully opening front section for all your changing bits and bobs, it has pockets and pouches for food and drinks and it's insulated to keep everything just how it should be. There's a front pocket with a bottle holder, a back section with enough space for everything you would need for a day out or for travelling (yep I'm thinking about the next holiday already) there's a key hook a wee mirror, changing mat, a pouch which could be a wet bag or hold your liquids if you are flying. It's really spacious and for me the real bonus (and I realise this may seem sad) is the pram straps! So many rucksacks don't come with these and it's a faff on to get a rucksack on some prams.

 

The straps are wide enough to be comfortable but not so wide they are cumbersome and they adjust easily.

I've lusted after this bag for such a long time that I worried I might feel disappointed because I had built it up to epic proportions. I'm very happy to report that I am very far from disappointed! I love it so much I had planned to save it for our holidays but it's already become my day-out bag, and my taking the kids to swimming bag, and my night at the theatre bag (do you see the pattern, it's my 'any excuse to use it bag' )

So I'm now the proud owner of a wise owl ruck sack and blooming gorgeous bag and a cream bows in red mini yummy mummy. I don't think this will be the end of my collection though! I mean it would be rude not to own a gorgeous hold all

and this carrier would truly perfect our travel ensemble, looks like I'm having a pink lining credit card splurge soon! But ssshhh don't tell the husband.

My Favourite Fiction Finds

So the boffins over at Currys/PC World want to know about peoples fiction favourites, books, movies, or TV.

Years ago I could have listed a hundred books that I had read and loved in that year but now however my reading is restricted more to Biff Chip and Kipper (I know all you parents are nodding right?) than anything more adult. Although I will admit that I managed the 50 shades trilogy in 2012, but I was on holiday and only had 2 kids then....

So my favourite fiction book of this year has to be 'The Sory of The Little Mole Who Knew It Was None of His Business'

 

Yes folks show your pity now, I'm a 37 year old woman who's best read this year has been a book about poo! All different types of poo mind you, from lots of animals, it's like a murder mystery but without any murder! And it's very informative!

Now movies that's a different matter, see I can work and watch movies at the same time so I've managed quite a few this year but after much deliberation I've had to pick the one that made me laugh out loud the most. I mean real belly laughs, and that is 'Old Dogs'.

Robin Williams and John Travolta play two confirmed batchelors who end up in charge of Dan's (Williams) 6 year old twins . Much hilarity in a somewhat cringeworthy and slapstick style ensues with one mix up and misunderstanding after another. To be honest I'm not sure the movie was a great box office success and it's not exactly plot heavy but it's a brilliantly funny easy watch. Williams and Travolta show the pitfalls of becoming 'more mature' with flair and humour, we've watched this twice now and found it laugh out loud funny, maybe it's because we're feeling old, or maybe it's the comic timing of Williams and the rubber faced funny of Travolta. Whatever it it, it's well worth a watch.

A Break From Blogging

Over Christmas I've had a break from blogging and it's made me really think about things. I love blogging, I love to write and I love to share my opinions of stuff that could be useful to other parents. But...

I've enjoyed not being plugged into a screen so much, and I've realised that I've spent so much time writing reviews that my draft posts about family life, parenting and general mummy mumblings have piled up and remain unfinished. I've begun to question the way in which I blog, see it's easy to quickly do some promotion around social media while I'm with the kids as iPhones make it easy, but then I'm not really concentrating 100% on enjoying my children or concentrating on blogging. If I work while they sleep then I'm sacrificing time with my husband or housework time. So what's the answer? How do I get back the balance of reviews and MY writing whilst still earning a living from my blog, enjoying my family and keeping a house?

No seriously that's an actual question for any of you bloggers out there how do you do it?

It's been a while since we last undertook a mission but we've been doing lots of work behind the scenes!
