Pikku Hair Salon in Gosforth

We've heard some great reviews of Pikku in Gosforth, so we were very excited to be invited along for haircuts last week. I had a little browse around the website before we set off and I have to admit I thought I'd be spending my time chasing Termite away from the stairwell after I read that the salon is situated upstairs to the Pikku shop. I really should have known better, of course they geared the whole salon to children and so a gate is firmly in place at the top of the stairs so immediately parents can relax.

The salon has toys, tablets, DS's a high chair and special car seats to sit in while kids have their hair cut. The kids were straight into discovery mode asking questions and playing with toys.

There are also different 'zones' so there's a zone my boy immediately headed for with lego figures mini skateboards and a DS he was in his element, Peanut obviously headed straight for the pink fluffy robes and sheer curtained pink seated area. Whilst Termite was just in her element trying every seat and investigating every little thing.

Our stylist, Trish was amazing managing to give brilliant haircuts to my monkeys despite them not sitting perfectly still. Each of the hair cutting areas has a tablet to watch TV or play games so there's plenty of distraction while the haircut takes place.

 

My peanut had a huge amount of hair cut of which she had said previously she wanted to do for The Little Princess charity, but I thought she had changed her mind until she sat down and claimed she wanted it short short. I'm so proud she wanted to give her hair to this lovely charity and the girls at Pikku were happy to oblige giving her a lovely haircut and bagging up the cut tresses to keep them fresh for posting to the charity.

Termite sat reasonably still for her first ever haircut and Trish did a lovely job of tidying up her baby fuzz without chopping off much of our recently acquired but still very short hair! We also got a lovely pouch to keep our first curl in and a certificate too.

At the end of our visit each of the kids got a ballon and some magic 'non bursting' bubbles which have been a favourite to play with this week!

The kids loved their visit to the salon and still talk about it Peanut even says she'd like to have her birthday here! Which is totally do able as they run pamper parties for groups of 10 or more priced at £15 per head.
