Plum Little Yums Review

Would I like to try a healthy snack suitable for young children with no junk in, that can be nice for teething babies?

Err yes please! Admittedly this is not exactly how those folks at Plum Actually asked but it was near enough. I really struggle with snack ideas for Termite, she's baby led so eats mostly just what we eat but I struggle sometimes for ideas of low salt, healthy snack ideas suitable for her age and also easily able to be eaten independently. I swear she hates any help at all!

What They Say

Little Yums are light, delicious wafers made with the nutritious ancient grain buckwheat, plus fruit and veggies. They're the perfect first snack for little teethers: the wafer dissolves easily in your baby's mouth and is easy to hold, which encourages self-feeding. The unique fruit and vegetable combinations we've created are designed to delight tiny taste buds with the natural flavours of our delicious and nutritious ingredients. Allergy advice: Contains MILK. May contain traces of: gluten (wheat) and soy.
  • Certified organic, no genetically modified ingredients
  • No artificial flavours, colours or preservatives
  • No added sugar or salt
  • No mess or worry; dissolves in baby's mouth
  • Made with 100% BPA-free packaging

What We Say

We received both available flavours,  Spinach, Apple and Kale and also Pumpkin and Banana. I will admit the combinations are not something I would choose for a meal so I was a little reserved in my judgement.

Termite however was not! She loved them and with the arrival of three, yes THREE, new teeth she was very happy gnawing on them . In the interests of research I tried a bit of each, as did the big kids. The big kids really enjoyed them and to be honest as the are free from nasties and made with lovely organic ingredients I didnt mind them eating some, I found them very flavourful which is not something you can usually say about the baby snacks we've experience. They are similar in texture to a crispbread but have much more flavour. Suitable from 6 months these handy snacks come in 6 packets per box with 3 little yums in each pack. They are really handy for grabbing on the go and are an ace snack even for bigger kids!

 A Big Winner With Termite

It seems my Termite is in good company too, according to a recent news article our very own Prince George is a Plum fan. That'll give the two of them something to talk about when Termite finds herself at St Andrews with him!

Tales of The Termite - 6 month Update

Mummy is really busy most days and she was late telling you all about my month so I'm taking matters into my own hands!

Woop Woop I'm a half! Mummy says its all going to quickly and sometimes she gives me a great big squeeze and sniffs my head whiles telling Daddy she is trying to hold on to my baby-hood?! Shes a bit of an old sop, but she gives me milk whenever I want and always has a lovely cuddle when I'm upset.

I've grown one and a half teeth and they hurt a bit, but now I can really gnaw on all the lovely food Ive been trying, Mummy claims she's letting me lead the way in weaning, so I get to feed myself, and she doesn't seem to mind that lots of it ends up on the floor, up my nose or all over my body!  We've started to wean (a couple weeks earlier than the advice I know) and I have enjoyed handfuls of bubble and squeak, fruit, veg, and even dairylea sarnies!

I can roll A LOT now and the Mummy one keeps chasing me back onto my mat, I think its because I keep bumping my head on our hard floor and then crying! I can lift my bottom clear off the ground and this makes me giggle lots, it really is endlessly funny. To daddy's delight I have almost mastered waving so we have large stretches of time where Daddy, Peanut and The Golden child take turns to say 'woo ooh' and in return I flap my hand like a demented bird it really keeps them entertained.

I also do a little dance which mummy has been trying to get on her phone thingy but everytime I see the phone I just stop dancing, she doesn't think this is very good, but I'm not ready for stardom yet!

I have loved lots of things this month mostly focused around food and teeth

Sophie la Giraffe
This lovely teething toy keeps me occupied, squeaks to entertain me, and is great to chew o, it really gets to all the bits in my mouth that I need it too, and she is really cute!

Oxo Tots
Read mummy's review here, our OXO tot equipment is well used for outings and we LOVE them plus ITS NOT PINK woo hoo

Cosatto 3sixti

I love our highchair, it looks good, mummy says cleans easily (which is great considering how much mess I make) , and can be used as a low chair or a high chair with the push of a button on the base, it has recline and 3 tray settings and I love sitting right up at the table with the others.

Amber Anklets Check out our review here

Nelsons Teethas These little sachets are very annoying to me when mummy tries to use them but they make me go from crying to silent in seconds I'm not sure how they work but they feel so nice on my poor little gums, especially good since mummy lost my anklet and we've had to wait for a new one.

Ok I think that covers everything, see you all next month, oh and Mummy really loves hearing from you all so leave a comment for her (she doesn't get out much you know)

Amber Anklets

Way back before the Termite arrived I spoke to a lady called Tamara about reviewing an Amber Anklet. We chatted a bit by email bemoaning the struggles of being heavily pregnant in the heatwave, and she was truly sympathetic. Anyway we arranged that I would review for the company after the termite arrived.

 AMBER ANKLETS

I'm always looking to give more information about a product so asked Tamara about how she got started and my word what a story...

She discovered the powers of amber years ago when her daughter was born, in 2011. After she been given an anklet, from a relatives friend from Lithuania, turns out over there Amber is like Calpol! Her daughter cut all her teeth, with nothing but 2 anklets and some chamomile

Then in January 2013 at 6 months pregnant with her 3rd child her husband left! Deciding  she had 2 options; give up  or go forth and prosper. She went forth and so her company Amber anklets was then born, and has been growing ever since. When her son was born she  found out her partner wasn't coming back, as he'd been having an affair for about a year!. That's when she also started a new, new business 'Woman Up'. She has developed a course to help empower other women who for whatever reason need lifting up. In her words .' I'm 28, a recently full time single mum to 3 amazing angels, Rocco 8, Amelia 2 and Neo 6 months, I run 3 businesses (I also have a small cake business) and I'm on a mission to save the world-or at least a bit of it and right some wrongs.  People think I'm crazy, but those who know me, know I'm very serious indeed and will succeed-the universe willing!  '

I think she is an amazing lady and to be honest as a fellow mum of three young children I've no idea how she manages to run ONE succesful business let alone three! I wish her well in her endeavours.

Now back to the matter in hand, what are Amber Anklets and do they work? Now that termite has been showing signs of teething, I thought it time to try them out....

Basically they are exactly what they sound like. Little teeny anklets made from Amber beads, the amber is sourced directly from Lithuania and is guaranteed genuine. Each bead is  hand tied so that if they snap, the beads dont go flying everywhere. It's recommended that you hide the anklet under a sock or baby grow when sleeping and that the anklet should be used under supervision, they are most definately NOT for chewing on.

We have used the anklet for about 8 weeks and I really do think it made a difference, we didnt drool quite as much and as you may be aware my girl is a happy laidback type and the amber really helped keep her happy and laid back when her first two teeth came through. Unlike her big sister who screamed for days on end, Termite has required more cuddles and less food but hasnt been bad at all.

Now let me admit to a secret, I have managed to loose our anklet by taking it off and putting it in the baby bag after a rather nasty nappy episode! Yes it did spread THAT far! I have noticed a difference in Termite's grizzleness since we've not had it on so I can only say, I dont know how it works, but it definitely does. So I'm off to order another couple from the website.

If you would like to know more you can visit the website and also follow on Facebook and Twitter

But because Tamara is indeed a lovely lady she has given me an anklet to give away, just enter via the rafflecopter below, a winner will be drawn from  CORRECTLY COMPLETED entries Next week.
